American Dream, formerly Meadowlands Xanadu, is a proposed 5 million square foot entertainment, retail, office and hotel complex to be built within the existing New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority’s Meadowlands Sports Complex, which includes MetLife Stadium, the IZOD Center Arena and the Meadowlands Racetrack. DTS Provident was retained by Triple Five, LLC and previously Meadowlands Management, LLC to perform Traffic, Highway and Structural Engineering Services as well as Air Quality analysis in connection with this extensive development project. The Project required obtaining permits from multiple agencies as well as coordination with the NJSEA, NJ Transit Authority, NJ Department of Transportation and NJ Turnpike Authority for traffic management for the entire Sports Complex, among others, for the various sporting and cultural events, both during and after construction.

  • DTS Provident provided support for permit application submissions to the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, among others.
  • DTS Provident prepared Traffic Impact Studies to identify future traffic conditions and required roadway improvements and performed an Air Quality analysis.
  • DTS Provident developed construction plans for approximately $31 million of off-site road improvements, including the relocation of existing ramps to and from the Complex on NJ Route 120, widening of ramps to and from the New Jersey Turnpike, construction of a flyover bridge structure spanning NJ Route 3, and the widening of NJ Route 120 and related roadways.
  • DTS Provident performed numerous traffic and parking surveys at NHL, NBA and NFL games that were utilized to develop a detailed traffic management plan outlining specific measures needed during events at the stadium and arena and during non-event periods to ensure acceptable traffic flow conditions on the internal roadways and adjacent regional highway system.

The Project has spurred long-needed transportation improvements in the region, including a new Meadowlands rail line and interchange improvements. DTS Provident’s engineering input on key aspects of this project was a vital element in the Project receiving approvals.

Our integrated, strategic approach to project planning and implementation balances the concerns of the land owner, the community, and the environment with the specific characteristics of the site, enabling us to create intelligent land use solutions.
