Traffic Engineer – Entry Level

ENTRY-LEVEL TRAFFIC ENGINEER

Based in White Plains, New York, DTS Provident is a team of land use professionals who help clients to achieve successful and sustainable development projects. JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking energetic, thoughtful and creative individuals to become integral members of our firm and collaborate with staff, consultants, and clients on a wide range of assignments.  Bachelor of Civil or related discipline with experience in project design and development.  Candidates for this position will assist in the preparation of Traffic Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Conceptual Highway Design Plans, Highway Capacity Analysis, Traffic Signal Design, and Intersection Design.  Assistance with Municipal Engineering and Traffic Safety Studies.  Experience with Microsoft Office is required.  Experience with HCS and AutoCAD is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mid-level Traffic Engineer (0-3 years’ experience) – Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions
  • Preparation of Traffic Reports and conceptual designs
  • Preparation of technical specifications, reports and studies
  • Effectively address regulatory comments to obtain agency approvals
  • Provide effective written and oral communication with other professionals and project team members
  • Meet and work with project schedules and required deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience in Civil Engineering with a concentration in traffic and transportation engineering
  • Proficiency in or aptitude to learn software:
    • Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PowerPoint or alternative
    • AutoCAD, Land F/X, Civil 3D, ARC GIS, site lighting software
    • Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in multidisciplinary practice particularly with landscape architects, land planners and civil engineers

Commensurate with experience, the salary range for the Entry-level Traffic Engineer position is $50,000-$75,000.
